Spark any fireworks lately?

Fireworks anyone?

Fireworks anyone?

This Fourth of July for 2009 was awesome. I loved the fireworks and the crowds. I was in Lodi, CA this night and it was well worth it, considering Stockton was pretty dead in terms of pyrotechnics. Lodi kind of has the perfect balance between a small-town environment and a big-city adventure scene; there’s definitely quite a bit to do there if you look hard enough. This kind of brings me to my new point, and it will probably cause some “sparks” in your mind (pun intended):

Are you in love with me or my wallet?

So I was on DL earlier, and I came upon this guy’s blog about a story his friend told him. The gist of his statement is basically asking whether or not money truly matters in a relationship, and if it does matter, then how much? It’s very interesting to think about this for a minute, especially considering how many headlines I’ve read saying something like, “I don’t want a paper gangsta” or “Cash me out”, or “Chase that green”. It’s not to say I’m not ambitious, but really? I’ve never met a person made out of paper anyways? :P Read on for the story! Continue reading ‘Are you in love with me or my wallet?’

Razor Blades and Ink

You don't have the guts.

You don't have the guts.

Yes! I finally made it to my next post. I have had one hell of a week, or weeks, as in plural. Damn. Well, I’m going to start with a few updates for my loyal readers. My blog has been shaping nicely in my views, and I’ll be going to some events in and around Stockton.CA, so you guys can stay in touch whether you’re here or somewhere else. So, on the agenda, there are three things that I said I would talk about, those being:

  • 1) Ink
  • 2) Beads
  • 3) Water

What am I Hiding?

What am I Hiding?

So, EXTREMELY surprising news. People have actually been reading my blog? WTF is wrong with you all? Are you drunk? Ok, ok, I’m very happy that you’ve been paying attention to my corner of the internet. It’s been a few days, and I am working on a series of posts for you guys to enjoy pretty soon. The topics for my upcoming stories will be: Ink, Beads, and Water. Yes, I know, a little strange, but you will soon see what I mean. Meanwhile, make sure you finish your homework and eat all your peas! Also, check out my friend Travis’ Blog. He just started, so show your support like the kind you’ve shown me!

UOP “Secret Spots”

What time is it?

What time is it?

I have class at UOP (University of the Pacific for you non-locals, not University of Phoenix :p) this summer and I’m going to try and take as many pictures of the campus as possible, using only my Nokia e71 cell phone that I just got done “fixing”. I hear there are “secret spots” around the campus, and it was built in 1925, so I imagine there are some interesting areas worthy of checking out. If I find a treasure chest or something, I’ll let you guys know!

My Tall Friend

This is my cool friend Travis!

This is my cool friend Travis!

Soooooooooo……This is Travis. Doesn’t he look awesome already? Well, he is. It’s very simple, actually: I met Travis in 7th Grade and we became pretty close friends, but he unfortunately moved away from Stockton at the end of that school year. So we therefore became long-lost buddies, however, fast-forward 4 years(!?) and one random afternoon, while I was bored, I decided to log into my MySpace Account, and what did I see?! A bulletin “advertising” for a Party! A Party?! Count me in! I replied to his bulletin and that night we partied in some place named Woodbridge (which I had no idea existed before this) and, well, resurrected our friendship. Let me describe Travis for you: He is tall! Like 6’4″ Tall. Like “makes anyone nearby feel like a little person” tall. He’s tall and very funny. For every inch he is tall he has about 10 jokes to tell you (Shoutout to his crazy neighbor chasing burglars)! He is a creative soul and prefers photography over math (he’s missing out!). He’s an amazing person and very friendly. Unfortunately, similar to many of my close friends, you’re probably not cool enough to know him, but you can try by checking out his MySpace Profile. :)

Katie is Awesome.

And Awesome, and more cool.

And Awesome, and more cool.

So, I want to introduce you guys to my friend named Katie. You’re probably not cool enough to actually know her, but you can get pretty damn close by reading her blog. :) As for the friendship she and I have, well it’s awesome. Maybe it’s because she’s awesome. I don’t know. She hates math but loves reading. My how opposite we are. I met Katie one life-changing night when my friend Travis (who you will read about shortly) invited me to a party in Woodbridge. Katie got to the party and Travis introduced me to her, and I instantly thought she was very pretty and had a great personality. We exchanged numbers and a few weeks later I gave her Adobe CS4 (The Entire Master Collection, none the less!) and since then I’ve considered her a go-to buddy for advice and general nonsense talk. So, just to clarify myself, Katie is awesome, and you can become awesome too by visiting her blog!

Popping the Blogging Cherry.

So, Hi! My name is Juan, and I’ll be your pilot for the trip you call life and I call insanity. :) I don’t know where to begin but here’s my best shot. Actually, I take that last part back. I decided I’m not going to introduce myself, like talking about how old I am or where I go to school. Instead, I’m going to choose to let you, the reader, make up your own mind about my opinions and personality, at least as best you can through my writing on the internet! I guarantee you will not like everything I write, and guaranteed I won’t write everyday, but this is an experiment, and I’m a science nerd, so :p Last but not least, I would like to say Hi to Katie, a fellow blogger on the web. She’s very very cool and I think you guys should check out her blog as well.

Stockton through Smoke….

is basically describing the purpose of this blog. You get to read, see, and sometimes hear my life here in Stockton through my eyes, ears and words. Pretty cool, huh?
